Title: A Life not Jaded
Author: [personal profile] eloriekam/[livejournal.com profile] eloriekam
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Strongly implied whump, imagery may be bothersome.
Characters: The Doctor, companion (Ten & Donna intended, read as you like)
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Summary: Since he found it he thought it was lovely, but now they both need it.
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Written for the perfect drabble challenge 'Green' on [livejournal.com profile] who_contest. First time doing a drabble (so I checked the word count about ten times), and I believe my first time writing from a one word challenge or prompt. Those who dislike commas may not like this drabble.

It's a property, and shouldn't matter he didn't see it until he left Gallifrey.

Now he knows it, lustrous and rich, so many shades. Skies, nebulae, minerals, oceans, trees, vines: so stunning and vibrant, filling his life. Life giving, he often thinks.

It's there now, just beyond a contrasting expanse, life within and without, his own and his dear friend's. He stares at the changing boundary.

He feels all its life, and his own and hers, waning.

If too much life within spills out, will it breathe and restore them in an emerald haze?

Or will it suck in greedily?
