Precisely! It also helps, at least for me, if the writer takes it somewhere instead of making it all about that and then just sort of... stopping.
Yeah. It's been a challenge with Light My Candle because it is SO easy to make the story about HIV/AIDS rather than have it be about CJ and her life with Sydney. The disease, while a part of her life, isn't her entire life. But it's hard sometimes, because it's SO easy to write the angst and nothing else.
